Questions to Ask Your Wedding Makeup Artist Before You Book
June 18, 2026
Your makeup artist is one of the few vendors who is with you during the most personal hours of your wedding day. Before you book, a short conversation tells you whether an artist is the right fit. Here is what to ask.
Do you travel to my venue, and what does that include?
Confirm that the artist comes to you and how travel is handled. Wondrous Look works on location across Miami and South Florida, with travel in the immediate area included on most bookings and longer distances quoted up front.
Do you offer a trial, and how does it work?
A trial is where your look is designed and tested. Ask when it happens, what it covers, and whether photos are taken so the look can be recreated exactly on the wedding day.
Can you handle my whole party and keep us on time?
If you have a bridal party, ask how many people the artist can serve and whether a second artist is available. A clear morning timeline is the difference between a calm start and a stressful one.
How do you make makeup last and photograph well?
Look for an artist who can explain their approach to long wear in a humid climate and to makeup that reads naturally on camera. You can see how we answer these on our frequently asked questions page.
